Questions

Straight answers.

Installation, autonomy, network, content and contracts. What people actually ask before they order.

Does installation require building work?

No. A Ginko frame is hung, not installed. There is no cable to run and no chasing to do, so nothing has to be opened in a wall or a ceiling. A traditional hook, a VESA 200 by 200 bracket, a steel cable, a floor easel or a matching shelf, whichever suits the space.

How is it charged?

With the charger supplied. A full cycle takes about three hours. Because the display draws power only when the image changes, a charge lasts a very long time.

How long does the battery really last?

Up to three years. That figure is based on typical use and varies with the number of image changes, the ambient temperature and the active hours. A frame updated once a week and one updated four times a day will not behave the same way.

Does it work without a network?

Yes. Up to twenty images are stored on the device and the frame runs fully autonomously, with identical battery life. This matters on a yacht, on an aircraft or anywhere a network cannot be relied upon.

Is Wi-Fi required?

Only to pair the frame, to provision it and to push new content. Wi-Fi is the single connection used, which is what removes the cabling entirely.

What about information security?

The frame receives content, it never serves any. It exposes no service on your network and stores no personal data. Pairing is explicit, and a frame can be removed from a fleet at any time from Ginko Studio.

Portrait or landscape?

Both, on either model. The orientation is chosen with you at the time of order. The canvas, the resolution and the content library are identical either way.

Do we have to supply the content?

Not necessarily. From Studio Pro, Ginko Studio opens a library of more than 50,000 royalty-free high-resolution images, an AI-assisted generator and a template editor. You can also upload your own, or have us curate a collection for your venue.

Can we order a custom size?

The two standard formats cover most walls. Beyond them, bespoke framing lets you change the wood, the tint, the profile and the mat, including removing the mat entirely so the panel meets the frame edge to edge. Tell us the wall and we will tell you what is possible.

What separates the Horizon from the Monumental?

The presence, not the picture. Both carry the same 42-inch canvas and the same resolution. The Horizon is 700 by 900 mm with a 3 cm mat and reads like a framed print. The Monumental is 1 000 by 1 200 mm with a 15 cm cream mat and holds a wall on its own.

Purchase or leasing?

Purchase suits stable locations and long lifecycles, and includes Studio Essential. Leasing removes the initial investment, spreads the cost over 24, 36 or 48 months, and includes Studio Pro. Both are on the pricing page.

What is included with Ginko Studio?

A Studio licence comes with every frame and is never sold on its own. Essential is included with a purchase, Pro with a lease. Storage and AI credits are included with each plan.

Can Ginko work with the displays we already own?

That is what Ginko Player is for. It connects existing surfaces to Ginko Studio over USB and HDMI, so you keep the hardware and gain the orchestration. Player is currently in development and pricing is on request.

Is there a minimum number of frames?

No. A single frame is a perfectly good place to start, and many projects begin with one, in one lobby, before spreading.

Who installs it, and how long does it take?

You can hang it yourself: it is a framed object, not an integration project. We also offer on-site installation, commissioning and Studio account configuration as a service.

What is the warranty?

A standard commercial warranty applies, alongside your statutory rights. Details on request.

What happens at end of life?

The object is 99 % recyclable, and it is CE, FCC, RoHS and WEEE compliant. There is also no construction waste at installation, because nothing is built in.

Autonomy based on typical use. It varies with the number of image changes, ambient temperature and active hours.
